The SomArt program currently has 2 locations: SomArt @ the Hive (561 Windsor), and SomArt @ the Armory (191 Highland Ave) both in Somerville, MA.

SomArt @ the Armory/BIPOC Space
191 Highland Ave., Somerville, MA 02143

SomArt @ the Armory is currently 2 spaces inside the Somerville Armory, a City-owned multi-tenant building. The BIPOC space is located on the 2nd floor in units 2A and 2B. The 3rd-floor movement space is located on the 3rd floor. The building is ADA accessible with the option of stairs or elevator to both locations. There is a ramp leading up to the building with an automatic door opener operated by a button.

There is a public/no pay lot directly behind the Somerville Armory building available to all on a first come first served basis. There is no time limit for this lot, but overnight parking is prohibited. During large events in the large hall there is overflow parking available as instructed by a sandwich board which is placed out front when the lot is full.

There is also 2 hour parking directly out front of the building on Highland Ave on both sides of the street. Adjacent streets have resident parking only.

Public Transit

The Somerville Armory is about a 10-minute walk from Magoun Square or Gilman Square T stops on the Green Line. In addition, there are busses (the 88 and the 90) along Highland Ave. The Somerville Armory is also accessible via a 20-minute walk from either Porter or Davis Square T stops on the red line.

Located very close to the community path, biking is a great way to get to the Armory. The community path helps avoid the hill, and gives you safe access to Central or Lowell streets, which gives you access to Highland ave and the Somerville Armory.

There are a few bike racks in front of the Armory to secure your bike. In addition, Blue Bikes docking stations aren’t too far away.
