This informal showing is a viewing of the initial development of a new work that centers around the deeply human act of caretaking, a multifaceted and often under acknowledged labor that shapes many aspects of our lives. This work is a reflection and inquiry into the many forms caretaking can take—both visible and invisible, physical and emotional, chosen and inherited. It asks: What does it mean to give care? What does it mean to receive it? How do our needs differ, and how do we ask for what we truly require?

Through movement, play, and vocalization, we are investigating the gestures, rituals, and tensions of caregiving. The performance weaves together set choreography and improvisational scores, allowing performers to embody both the structure and spontaneity that caretaking often demands. The process itself is as important as the product, created collaboratively, with care at its core.

The ~30 min showing will be followed by a brief facilitated discussion with the Choreographer, Aliza Franz, and Collaborators, Olivia Moon, Andrea Muñiz, Claire Lane, Izzi King, and Austin Guin.
