Solo to Contact Improvisation – Connecting with Self & Other
Sunday, July 21, 2024, 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Everyone is welcome to join this class on Solo and Contact Improvisation, whether you are completely new to improvised movement and would like to try it out, or if you are a seasoned practitioner looking to practice more. This class will start with a focus on connecting to ourselves, our bodies, and the present moment, and then we will connect and communicate with each other through improvisational movement with guiding prompts and exercises. This practice offers an opportunity to break out of habitual ways of moving and thinking, and to counter the social isolation that many of us feel in an increasingly virtual world. This is an invitation to connect to new aspects of yourself, nurture mindfulness, and form meaningful relationships through embodied interactions within a supportive community. No experience is necessary – we hope you can join us!
