Take a fascinating journey into the origins of comedy!
This 6-hour workshop introduces students to the rich culture of Italy, giving the opportunity to explore the ancient theatre of Commedia dell’Arte, a tradition that still lives on today. Participants will learn about the history and characteristics of this particular kind of physical theater. Starting from body isolations, we will explore the physical postures and walks of famous stock characters, such as Arlecchino, Pantalone, Colombina, Capitano, Pulcinella and so on. We will do some mask work and then improvise on excerpts of historical scenarios from the late 1500s. In English (with some Italian)

Open to All, no Previous Experience Required.
Dress comfortably and be ready to move! It’s mandatory to take off shoes (we recommend wearing non-slip socks or dance shoes with soft sole). Bring some water!
