Fels is back for our first gathering of 2025 and we welcome you to a fresh space and expanded format! Come and join us on a Journey into Sound, Light, and Movement. On January 18, we will gather at SomArt at the Hive – a dance studio and event space that supports experimental performance, visual arts, and trans/interdisciplinary creation.

We will open our doors at 6 pm and have three half hour performances lasting between 7 and 9 pm. Sounds will be created by the artists Inner Kettle Tones (meditative ambient project of sage ua sole), Ryan Campos, and Dyr Faser. Blktrmlne and VJ Zombie will visually transform the space with sound and motion reactive projections. Dancer Laura Scarlett adds the body in motion as a new dimension to the collaboration.

This is a place where the music, visuals, dancers, and the audience can come together as one. There will be a mix of seating with an emphasis on floor space. Please bring your comfortable things (pillows, blankets or yoga mats) to sit/lie down on.

This is a space for you. A space to slow down, be present and feel. This is your Fels.

About the Artists

Inner Kettle Tones
Inner Kettle Tones is an ambient music project initiated by artist Joshua Tarantino: “I am involved with making sounds that function in a way for listeners to become aware of their sensorial depths, through which inner space reveals and personal discoveries of the spirit are made possible. For this particular performance, I will be infusing sparse harmonic elements with soft spoken poetry to explore with attendees questions of the essential self.”

In the following months, Inner Kettle Tones will be releasing recorded music for contemplative activities that anyone can stream and listen to. They will also be working with local holistic practitioners on custom soundscapes that suit the various specialized techniques used in the healing arts & alternative medicine, therapy, yoga, and meditation. Ryan Campos is an experimental sound artist whose work explores abstract concepts alongside nostalgic textures, offering a display of sonic expressions through minimal electronic designs and existential soundscapes.

DYR FASER is a genre-defying band blending shoegaze ambience with gritty garage rock energy. Their sound ranges from twanging, neurasthenic riffs to feverish drum and guitar combinations, creating a dynamic duality that feels both insistent and dreamlike. With influences from The Stooges to Durutti Column, their music offers a kaleidoscopic snapshot of sound, uniquely unpredictable and deeply immersive.

Erica Gaeta (@ericagaeta) aka Blktrmlne (@blktrmlne) is a multidisciplinary artist and projectionist based out of Boston, MA. She is a resident VJ and visual art curator at @infraboston. Her exploration of dark and edgy abstraction synchronizes with the frequencies of sound. Her body of work explores deep thought and broad unknowns. She is most interested in how different modes of expression serve as vehicles in channeling energy and forces both physical and metaphysical. In her creative and professional practice, she works to both transform and create space for others to find greater connection to themselves, and the world, while opening up to discovery and awareness.

VJ Zombie is a Boston-based video artist that uses light as a medium to transform spaces into captivating visual experiences. With a minimal aesthetic and detailed approach, he works with lines and geometry to create perfectly coinciding images. Using different light sources and custom surfaces intertwined with the right timing, he creates a dream-like surreal experience.

Laura Scarlett is a Boston-based fusion belly dancer. She has performed across Massachusetts and various belly dance festivals. This is her first foray into ambient performance!
